After a light, early morning breakfast on August 24, 2012, at Xakanaxa Camp, we took a safari vehicle for one last birding/big game expedition in Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. The (African) Sacred Ibis, Threskiornis aethiopicus, has a long decurved black bill with a black head, neck, and legs. The long neck is unfeathered. The remainder of the bird is white except for the black bustle. Temperatures were edging up into the upper 70's on this clear day.
