Brad enjoyed photographing this African Fish-Eagle as it perched in the tallest tree across the water located directly in front of the open dining/reception area at Nxamaseri Lodge (Botswana) during the morning of August 20, 2012, while I was out birding nearby floodplains in a Mokoro. The African Fish-Eagle, Haliaeetus vocifer, is a true eagle with feathered legs and powerful talons. It is fairly common in the area with its broad wings and short, white tail. The white head and breast along with a white "V" extending down to its mantle are distinctive. Upperparts are black, and underparts are rufous. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this clear morning with blue skies.
