Brad took this photograph of an Arrow-marked Babbler, Turdoides jardineii, early in the morning on August 21, 2012, while we were birding around Nxamaseri Lodge (Botswana) looking for Pel's Owl. The Arrow-marked is similar to Hartlaub's Babbler. However, it has a brownish-colored belly and rump. The head, nape, mantle, and breast are decorated with whitish "arrowheads". The eye is a reddish-orange color. Sexes are alike. Temperatures were in the upper 60's on this clear day with blue skies.
