Brad took this photograph of a Black Crake, Amaurornis flavirostris, from the open dining/reception area at Nxamaseri Lodge (Botswana) during the afternoon of August 20, 2012. The Black Crake is aptly named as it has black upper- and underparts. It has red legs, a bright yellow bill, and a red iris. Temperatures were in the upper 80's on this clear day with blue skies.
