Brad took this photograph of a Dark-capped Bulbul from the open dining/reception area at Nxamaseri Lodge (Botswana) during the morning of August 20, 2012, while I was out birding nearby floodplains in a Mokoro. This Bulbul, Pycnonotus tricolor, was perched atop some papyrus. The species is characterized by its dark, crested head, dark eyes and narrow, dark eye-ring. The vent is yellow. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this clear morning with blue skies.
