We were boating to Nxamaseri Lodge, located in the pan-handle area of the Okavango Delta and our destination for the next two nights, early in the evening of August 19, 2012, when we encountered the Hadeda Ibis. Brad photographed this pair of birds, Bostrychia hagedash, as they foraged in a swampy area near the water. The body is a grayish-brown color. A white cheek-stripe, decurved bill with a red culmen, and an iridescent bluish-green shoulder are shown here. Temperatures were cooling off from earlier highs in the low 90's.
