Brad photographed a Mourning Collared-Dove the morning of August 22, 2012. We'd left Nxamaseri Island Lodge (Maun, Botswana) before sunrise by boat for our last birding expedition there. The Mourning Collared-Dove, Streptopelia decipiens, was perched in a tree near the main channel and fairly close to our boat. The all gray head has a yellow eye and a red eye-ring. Underparts are a pinkish-gray, and a black collar is present. Temperatures were in the low 70's.
