We arrived by boat at Nxamaseri Lodge during the early evening of August 19, 2012. The lodge is located in the pan-handle area of the Okavango Delta and was our destination for the next two nights. Brad took this photo of me sitting on the "front wall" of our casita. One of the three remaining walls, behind the bed, was screening. My feet were on the deck that separated us from the tree-fronted water were the hippos loved to snort and muck around at night. Temperatures cooled off quickly once the sun set. We ended a very full day of travelling and birding from Namibia to Botswana with bird listing, dinner, and a hot shower looming in front of us.
