Fluffing up its feathers, a sub-adult Saddle-billed Stork (Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis) is shown here giving us a back view of its flayed wings and tail feathers on the morning of August 23, 2012. We were in a safari vehicle heading out from Xakanaxa Camp (Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana) for a morning of birding. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with clear skies.
