We returned to Xakanaxa Camp (Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana) after doing some early morning birding and looking for big game on August 23, 2012. Brad and I decided to bird around the camp before brunch and photographed a Wattled Starling, Creatophora cinerea, that was perched in the trees above us. A pale starling with a white rump and underparts, this male (wet from recent bathing) has yellow and black coloration on its head with the onset of wattle formation on the crown and above the bill. Temperatures were edging upward toward the high 80's with clear blue skies.
