I photographed the inside of our tent at Xakanaxa Camp in Maun, Botswana, mid-afternoon on August 22, 2012. Temperatures were in the low 90's on this sunny afternoon. A big oscillating fan (not visible, on the lower right) was located in the tent but only worked during daylight hours while the electricity was available. The tent was screened at the front and sides and partially open to the elements in the back where the shower and bathroom facilities were located. After sunset we moved to and from the dining area with an escort as wild animals are not prevented from coming on the property. Staying on one's deck was a good idea...wandering around was not. The room was comfortable. It's amazing how quickly one adjusts to living by candle light.
