Brad took this photograph of a Yellow-bellied Greenbul, Chlorocichla flaviventris, early in the morning on August 21, 2012, while we were birding around Nxamaseri Lodge (Botswana) looking for Pel's Owl. A species of songbird in the Pycnonotidae family, it is found in Africa south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Kenya to South Africa. Upperparts are an olive-green color, and underparts (including the underwings) are yellow. The reddish eye has prominent white 'eyelids'. Temperatures were in the upper 60's on this clear day with blue skies.
