A Yellow-throated Petronia (Gymnoris supercillaris) is perched on a distant broken tree branch. We were driving around the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana the morning of August 23, 2012, with our group and guides (VENT and local) in a safari vehicle looking for big game and birds. This species is IDed in the field by its brownish upperparts, grayish underparts, and a broad white eyebrow. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this sunny morning with clear skies.
