Brad photographed this (Southern) Pale Chanting-Goshawk (Melierax canorus) while it hunted in the grass. We were birding in the vicinity of Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park (Namibia) during the afternoon of August 15, 2012, when we spotted this large, pale-gray goshawk with its coral-pink colored cere and legs. Its rump is an unmarked white color. Temperatures were in the mid-60's with partly cloudy skies.
