Brad photographed this (Southern) Pale Chanting-Goshawk (Melierax canorus) perched out in the open with its characteristic upright stance. We were birding in the vicinity of Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park (Namibia) during the afternoon of August 15, 2012, when we spotted this large, pale-gray goshawk with its coral-pink colored cere and long legs. Its rump is an unmarked white color. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with partly cloudy skies.
