The morning of August 19, 2012, we drove from Naumatoni Camp (Etosha National Park) to Mokuti airstrip (Etosha National Park) and flew from there to Rundu, Namibia. After refueling in Rundu, we flew to Kaprivi Airstrip in Namibia. Here we were picked up by safari vehicles to take us through Bagani Mahangu Game Reserve and across the boarder into Botswana. An African Pipit, Anthus cinnamomeus, was one of the first species that we encountered in Mahangu. Outer tail feathers are white, the base to the bill is yellow, and the face and chest are boldly marked. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this clear day.
