Brad photographed this African Spoonbill feeding at a marshy area in Bagani Mahangu Game Reserve in Namibia the afternoon of August 19, 2012. We had stopped for a picnic lunch and were kept busy photographing the various species feeding in the area. The African Spoonbill, Platalea alba, has pink legs and a pink, spatulate-shaped bill. This otherwise all-white bird has a red face and a yellow iris. Temperatures were in the 90's on this clear day.
