We were driving along the main road to the waterhole at Andoni located on the eastern side of the Etosha Pan during the afternoon of August 18, 2012, when we spotted this Barred Wren-Warbler, Calamonastes fasciolatus, perched in a thornbush. Upperparts are brownish, while underparts are barred on a buffy-colored background. Typically, the tail is raised when the bird is alarmed. Temperatures were in the low 90's on this clear day.
