After breakfast and a hike around the Huab property the morning of August 14, 2012, we boarded a safari vehicle to go birding. We saw this Black-chested Prinia, Prinia flavicans, just as we were about to drive away from the reception/dining area. Sexes are similar in appearance in this small warbler. Upperparts are brownish, underparts are a pale yellowish-color, and the black breast-band is absent in this non-breeding individual. The iris is a pale yellow color, and a prominent supercilium is evident. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this clear, sunny day.
