We photographed this Dark Chanting Goshawk (Melierax metabates) as it flew over us (our only photographic opportunity). We were driving to Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park (Namibia) during the afternoon of August 15, 2012, and had just entered through the Andersson Gate leading from mopane treeveld to sweet grassveld on lime near Okaukuejo. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with partly cloudy skies.
