We photographed this African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) while driving to Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park (Namibia) during the afternoon of August 15, 2012. The elephants in Etosha are the tallest in Africa. However, they have the shortest tusks due to mineral deficiencies in their diet. The tusks on this individual look broken and worn. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with partly cloudy skies.
