After birding around Klein Okevi Waterhole the morning of August 18, 2012, we returned to Namutoni Camp for breakfast. We photographed this pack of Banded Mongooses, Mungos mungo. These carnivores have brown and gray fur with dark bands running across their backs. Front paws have five digits, while back feet only have four. They use their non-retractable claws for digging. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this clear day.
