After breakfast at Namutoni Camp on August 18, 2012, we drove back to Klein Okevi Waterhole for more birding. Brad photographed this Greater Kudu, Tragelaphus strepsiceros, as it prepared to drink at the waterhole. Females are smaller than males and lack spiral horns. This individual is a tawny color and has thin pale conspicuous stripes on its body. A crest of hair runs down the middle of the back forming a mane. Ears are large and rounded. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this clear day.
