After a picnic lunch near a marshy area in Bagani Mahangu Game Reserve in Namibia the afternoon of August 19, 2012, we continued our drive to the Botswana border. Brad photographed a Vervet Monkey, Cercipothecus aethiops, as it walked in the grass. Vervets have a black face that is bordered by a white fringe. They are excellent jumpers and enjoy a good time. I watched a troop of them jumping one by one (adults to juveniles) from a tree onto a hammock. This particular afternoon they got more use out of the hammock than the humans who set it up! Temperatures were in the 90's on this clear day.
