After breakfast on August 13, 2012, we boarded a safari vehicle and drove along the dry Huab River bed until lunchtime. Huab Lodge is located between Khorixas and Kamanjab in the Damaraland region of Namibia. Jan, the owner of the property, pointed out this unique-looking white-barked tree which he identified as a Chestnut Tree. Temperatures were in the high 80's on this clear, breezy morning.
