We were up early the morning of August 13, 2012, to do some birding while the temperatures were still low. The Fork-tailed Drongo, Aquila spilogaster, with its long forked tail, red iris, and strong bill, seemed to be everywhere. Drongos are black insectivorous birds that have prominent rictal bristles. Temperatures were up into the low 80's on this clear, breezy morning.
