This photograph shows Fort Namutoni in Etosha National Park where we spent the nights of August 17, and 18, 2012. Namutoni is a camp on the edge of Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. Fort Namutoni is a fort that was originally designed as a German police post that later served as a site to hold English prisoners in World War I. The fort that we saw was restored to its present state in 1957. It serves as a lodge, stopover, and visitor's viewpoint. It was the nicest camp that we stayed at while in Etosha (our room was recently redecorated and modernized).
