After a much needed siesta and settling in period during the afternoon of August 12, 2012, Brad and I walked to the reception area (a nice hike) at Huab Lodge. This building provided excellent bird viewing opportunities where Brad photographed some local species such as this Great Rufous Sparrow (Passer motitensis). The male of this near endemic species has a black bib, white cheeks, grayish underparts, rufous colored upperparts and vent. Temperatures on this clear, sunny afternoon were in the upper 80's.
