Brad and I were driving in a safari vehicle around the Huab property during the late afternoon of August 12, 2012. Sitting on the top tier of the vehicle, we ended up taking a "beating" along the rocky "road". The scenery alone, however, was worth the trip. This photo shows the Huab Valley where, during the rainy season, the Huab River may flow (depending on the amount of rain). The surrounding areas in the northwestern part of Namibia are arid savannah and woodland sprinkled with large boulders, dry grasses, and rocky hills. Temperatures on this clear, sunny afternoon were in the upper 80's.
