This photograph of Brad and I was taken inside the courtyard of (Fort) Namutoni Camp in Etosha National Park where we spent the nights of August 17, and 18, 2012. Namutoni is a camp on the edge of Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. Fort Namutoni is a fort that was originally designed as a German police post that later served as a site to hold English prisoners in World War I. The fort that we saw was restored to its present state in 1957. It serves as a lodge, stopover, and visitor's viewpoint. We are standing beside a metal cauldron created by a local artisan that was decorated with elephants. A gift shop is located behind Joanne to the right. The dining room is located in front of and to the left of Brad.
