We were up early the morning of August 13, 2012, to do some birding while the temperatures were still low. Brad photographed a flock of Laughing Doves, Spilopelia senegalensis, as they flew overhead. This species lacks a black nuchal collar. The head is pinkish, and the breast is a cinnamon color with black spots. The back is a rusty color. Outer tail feathers, visible in flight, are white. Temperatures on this partly cloudy morning were in the upper 60's.
