This photograph shows one of the walls near the entrance to (Fort) Namutoni Camp in Etosha National Park where we spent the nights of August 17, and 18, 2012. Namutoni is a camp on the edge of Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. Fort Namutoni is a fort that was originally designed as a German police post that later served as a site to hold English prisoners in World War I. The fort that we saw was restored to its present state in 1957. It serves as a lodge, stopover, and visitor's viewpoint. It was the nicest camp that we stayed at while in Etosha.
