Brad photographed this Pink-billed Lark (Spizocorys fringillaris) while we were driving to the waterhole at Okondeka in Etosha National Park (Namibia) during the morning of August 16, 2012. The preferred habitat for this species is dry lowland grassland. The conical pink bill, pink legs, white throat, and straw-colored outer tail feathers characterize this finch-like lark. Western birds tend to be paler in color with a buff-colored belly (not rufous). Temperatures were in the mid-70's with partly cloudy skies.
