After breakfast on August 14, 2012, Brad and I remained in Huab's reception/dining area to photograph several species that frequented the area such as these Red-headed Finches, Amadina erythrocephala. Shown in this photo are the male (left) with his brownish upperparts, red head, dark eyes, and dark, horn-colored bill, and the plain female (right). The male's underparts are scaly; white in color edged in black. The female's underparts are plainer, with light barring. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this clear morning.
