We flew from Mokuti Lodge's airstrip for the first leg of our flight to Botswana with a refueling stop in Rundu (Namibia) the morning of August 19, 2012. Brad photographed a Red-headed Weaver, Anaplectes melanotis, while were we at Mokuti. Too bad the bird was so far away since the vibrant red head and mantle of the male, with its whitish belly, and salmon-colored bill, make it a colorful species. The female's head is a bright yellow. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this clear day.
