August 15, 2012, began with an early morning birding hike around Huab before packing and leaving for our drive to Okaukuejo Camp in Etosha National Park (Namibia). The Rockrunner, Achaetops pycnopygius, was a target species. It scooted undercover along a shrub/grass covered rocky escarpment with only a brief pause. Brad was persistent and caught a departing view of this African warbler species showing its rufous underparts. The heavily streaked head and mantle, dark malar stripe, and white supercilium are not clear in the photo. Temperatures were in the low 50's on this misty, windy, overcast morning.
