Brad and I were driving in a safari vehicle around the Huab Conservation area property during the late afternoon of August 12, 2012. We photographed a pair of Rosy-faced Lovebirds, Agapornis roseicollis, as they flew in to perch on a shrub protruding from a rocky escarpment. We were still in the area where we had seen Verreaux's Eagle. Scope and bin views were OK, but we wanted photographs. The accompanying photo to this one shows what our camera can (and can't) do at this distance. Temperatures on this clear, sunny afternoon were in the upper 80's.
