Brad and I were driving in a safari vehicle around the Huab Conservation area property during the late afternoon of August 12, 2012. Sitting on the top tier of the vehicle, we ended up taking a "beating" along the rocky "road". Jan, the owner of the property, drove us to an area where he had seen a nesting pair of Verreaux's Eagles, Aquila verreauxii. Brad photographed this adult as it flew high up the rocky slope. Note the white flashes at the base of the bird's primaries. Temperatures on this clear, sunny afternoon were in the upper 80's.
