We drove back to Klein Okevi Waterhole after breakfast at Namutoni Camp on August 18, 2012. The bird in the center of this photo is a Violet-eared Waxbill (Uraeginthus granatinus). The female has violet ear-coverts. Both sexes have a long tail and a deep-blue rump. A Red-billed Quelea is perched on the lower left. Two Black-faced Waxbills are perched in the upper right. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this clear day.
