After birding and looking for big game at the Goas Waterhole in Etosha National Park (Namibia) the afternoon of August 17, 2012, we started driving toward Namutoni Camp (our base for the next two nights). Brad took this photograph of an adult White-backed Vulture, Gyps africanus, as it soared overhead. Plumage is a dark brown color with black skin (devoid of feathers) on the neck and head. Temperatures were in the upper 80's on this beautiful day with clear blue skies.
