We were up early the morning of August 13, 2012, to do some birding while the temperatures were still low. Brad photographed a White-throated Canary, Crithagra albogularis, as it perched nearby. The species is characterized by a bright lemon yellow colored rump, and a white supercilium and throat. Underparts are whitish with no lateral streaking (as in the Black-throated Canary). Temperatures on this partly cloudy morning were in the upper 60's.
