We birded the Walvis Bay Salt Works area during the afternoon of August 10, 2012. Brad photographed this group of three Cape Teals (Anas capensis) as they swam in a nearby pan. The Cape Teal is a small, pale duck with an upturned pink bill. In flight, it looks very pale (almost white). The speculum is white with a dark green central patch. The iris is red. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this overcast afternoon.
