We birded the Walvis Bay area during the morning of August 10, 2012. Brad photographed this Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia) as it stood in the lagoon. The bill (tucked under a wing) has a thick base and is long and slightly upturned. Underparts are white, and legs are a greenish-gray color. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this overcast morning.
