Brad took this photograph on August 9, 2012, while we were birding the Kuiseb Delta region near Walvis Bay. The Dune Lark (Certhilauda erythrochlamys) is a Namibian endemic. Its range lies entirely within the Namib sand sea in Namibia, ranging from the Kuiseb River in the north to the Koichab area near Luderitz in the south. Most of its range is within the Namib-Naukluft Park. The bird's coloration blends in with its environment with its white underparts, dune-red upperparts, and lightly spotted upper breast.
