After landing and clearing customs in Walvis Bay during the afternoon of August 9, 2012, our group of five (plus VENT guide and Bruno, our local guide/driver) headed out in Bruno's land rover to bird the Kuiseb Delta region to look for the endemic Dune Lark before driving to our base in Swakopmund, the Hansa Hotel. The Namib Section of the Namib-Naukluft Park (Namibia's largest nature reserve) stretches between the Swakop River and the Kuiseb River. I was intrigued with the desert scenery and enjoyed photographing the area.
