We birded the Namib-Naukluft National Park during the morning of August 11, 2012. This national park lies in Namibia and includes part of the Namib Desert (considered the world's oldest desert) and the Naukluft mountain range. I took this photo to show the gravel plains north of Swakopmund and the dolerite that cap the hills that snake across the valley floor. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this overcast morning.
