After birding along the Zambian side of the Zambezi River above Victoria Falls the morning of August 25, 2012, we entered Zimbabwe's territory along the river for additional birding. After about an hour, we returned to Zambian waters and landed on an island to have tea and do more birding. Temperatures on this sunny day were in the upper 70's. The Collared Palm-Thrush (Cichladusa arquata) was perched in a jumble of tree branches. However, its straw-colored iris, gray head, nape, and sides of the neck along with a black-bordered creamy-colored throat patch are visible. The long tail and wings are rufous.
