On August 25, 2012, we left the Royal Livingstone Hotel in a safari vehicle and drove to a different entrance to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for a late afternoon birding and big game expedition. Brad photographed a Collared Palm Thrush, Cichladusa arquata, that was perched on a branch near the roadway. Temperatures on this sunny day were in the low 90's. Its straw-colored iris, gray head, nape, and sides of the neck along with a black-bordered creamy-colored throat patch are visible. The long tail and wings are rufous.
