After returning from our boat trip to bird along the shorline areas of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambezi River above Victoria Falls, Joanne and I joined our VENT guide, Geoff, for some additional birding on the grounds of The Royal Livingstone Hotel. Brad photographed a Red-winged Starling (Onychognathus morio) that was perched above us. The female's red-brown flight feathers and bluish-gray colored head are visible. Temperatures on this sunny day (August 25, 2012) were in the low 80's.
