After a leisurely lunch in the Royal Livingstone's bar area the afternoon of August 24, 2012, Brad and I took a break and headed to our room. On the way there, we photographed a female Scarlet-chested Sunbird (Chalcomitra senegalensis) as it fed on the nectar of some pretty orange blossoms. The female has brown upperparts with heavy dark markings on the underparts. Temperatures outside were in the low 90's. When I used the word leisurely to refer to service at the Royal Livingstone, I should say it was at a snail's pace. It took about an hour from the time we ordered until we were served. The food was excellent.
